Scrawl. Scribble. Scratch - A look at Outsider Graffiti in South Africa from 2007 to 2019.
From scrawls made with sticks and stones by street dwellers and passersby, to rebellious teenagers with an urge to spray something absurd. Vulgar language and sexual innuendo, to just plain crazy people with some sort of intention. This follow up showcases more of the random markings one finds in our urban environment — the purest form of graffiti.
Photographs by Cale Waddacor in Cape Town, Durban, Grahamstown, Graskop, Hazyview, Johannesburg, Nelspruit and Pretoria.
